Brian has over 12 years of tax compliance and consulting experience with tax exempt organizations. He works extensively on various issues involving public charities and private foundations including charitable gift annuities, unrelated business income analysis, multi-state filing requirements, alternative investment foreign filing requirements, private foundation compliance review, mandatory E-filing compliance, transitional assistance for the redesigned Form 990, organizational structuring, and penalty abatement assistance.
Before coming to Temo A. Arjani & Co, LLP in 2009, Brian worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in their Exempt Organizations Tax Services practice in Los Angeles where he served as the tax manager for public charities and several of the country’s largest private foundations. He was a regular speaker at both client and internal training seminars. He was a major contributor to the firm’s comments on the 2008 redesigned Form 990 - Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax. He is a contributing author to the Financial and Accounting Guide for Not-for-Profit Organizations, 7th Edition, published by Wiley & Sons.
Brian earned his B.S. degree in Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles. He is a Certified Public Account licensed in California and a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
